Publication update: Michael Roberts’s blog back online

Michael Roberts’s blog is now back online, and the Turkish translation of his article Venezuela and oil has been republished here in full, complete with all original links, tables and charts. (See, "WordPress purges Michael Roberts’s blog").

That this is once again possible is welcome. However, it would be a mistake to treat this episode as an isolated or resolved issue. The growing prevalence of censorship, content suppression and algorithmic silencing across the internet remains a serious and expanding threat. As numerous recent cases show, large digital platforms continue to exercise arbitrary power over what may circulate, and what may not.

For this reason, the restoration of a single blog does not negate the broader problem.On the contrary, it underscores the need for vigilance, solidarity and an uncompromising defence of critical thought and freedom of expression against the growing power of digital gatekeepers.
